Since apparently college football is a big deal on Saturdays (who knew?? ), I thought I’d go ahead and share this Ole Miss Rebels “The Grove” Cake.
For those that don’t know, “The Grove” is a huge legendary tailgating area located on the University of Mississippi (Ole Miss) campus. It’s an age-old tradition that Ole Miss football fans hold dear to their hearts.
I only know this because a) I live in Mississippi and b) one of my closest friends went to Ole Miss after we graduated from community college… and she educated me on things like this (because truly ya’ll, I don’t have a clue!).
Anywho… this cake was for sweet Lucy celebrating her 6th birthday! If you remember, last year I made the Pumpkin Patch cake for her and it was also one of my favorites!
Here are a few details about the cake…
The tent on top was done almost completely by my husband. I really don’t know what I’d do without him! I wish I could tell you exactly how he did it… but I can’t. He’s just my rock star!
I made the chevron pattern with a cookie cutter from CheapCookieCutters.com and I used letters from the Wilton 101 Cookie cutters set for Lucy’s name.
And that’s it, I think!
