I’ve been dying to share this news with you for weeks now! Last month I got a call from a local magazine asking to interview me for an Easter cupcakes article.
I was sure it was a joke – or a hoax. I couldn’t believe they wanted to interview me! But sure enough, within a week I had a photographer at my house and I did the interview by phone. It was crazy!
Anyway, even after all of that, I still didn’t tell anyone other than my immediate family. I was sure they’d change their mind before going to print.
But early last week – I started getting messages from friends that they had seen me in the magazine! I was so excited and surprised… but I still hadn’t seen the article.
Turns out, it took a full week for me to get over to Natchez to get my very own copy of Natchez the Magazine. Actually, I bought 5 copies (ha!)… yeah, I got a little over excited!!
But of course, I had to have one for my Mama… and my hubby’s favorite aunt who requested that we mail one to her in Atlanta… and well… a few extras for good measure! I mean… this may never happen again – I need a record of it!
So after I finally got a copy … I opened it up and within the first few pages were this picture:
It’s my Easter Bunny Ears cupcake! Then I flipped over to page 56 and found this (below)… a full spread of my cupcakes! I may have squealed just a little bit!
How cool is that? I’m still pinching myself. :)
I took pics myself before I sent them back to the magazine office with the photographer… here was my “group shot”…
On the next page, there was a feature about me… with more pics of my cupcakes and me and the Easter Cake Pops I made for them also…
Whoo-hoo!!!! And since my sister had spent the morning making me pretty (she’s amazing with hair, makeup and nails!!)…
I decided to get my son Joshua (14) to take a few pics of me too (after the photographer left). I use one of them for my profile picture and here’s another fun one that the kids dreamed up … “Mommy, put a cupcake on your head!!”
The whole experience was a lot of fun and I am very grateful to Natchez the Magazine for this super fun opportunity! More importantly, I’m thankful to all of you, my readers, fans, and customers, for keeping me busy and encouraging me to keep on baking! Love you all lots!
