Description

This bacon cheeseburger dip comes together in three easy steps and takes about 20 minutes from start to finish.

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 1 lb lean ground beef
  • 8 oz cream cheese, room temperature
  • 8 oz Velveeta
  • 1 can (10 oz) green chilies (Rotel)
  • 1 cup crispy bacon, chopped
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper

Instructions

  1. In a large skillet over medium-high heat, brown the ground beef, breaking it up as it cooks (about 5-7 minutes). Drain excess grease.
  2. Reduce heat to medium and add cream cheese and Velveeta. Stir constantly until melted (about 2-3 minutes).
  3. Add green chilies, chopped bacon, salt, pepper, garlic powder, and cayenne pepper. Stir well.
  4. Cook on medium heat for about 10 minutes, stirring occasionally, until heated through and creamy.
  5. Transfer to a crock pot on low heat to keep warm, or serve immediately with tortilla chips, pita chips, or fresh veggies.

Notes

Oven Method: Transfer to a baking dish and bake at 350 degrees for 15-20 minutes.

Crockpot Method: Brown your ground beef in a large skillet, then transfer everything to your slow cooker. Cook on low heat for 2-3 hours, or on medium heat for 1-2 hours, stirring occasionally. This is perfect if you’re making it ahead for a football party — just keep it on the warm setting once it’s done.

Storage: Keep leftover dip in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 4 days.
