I made this cake for Corvan a couple of weeks ago and somehow I almost forgot to post it! Some weeks I get so busy that I actually lose track of how many cakes I’ve done…
Anyway, for his cake, Corvan’s mom sent me a link to this cake by Pink Cake Box and asked that I do similar colors and design, but without the stars and airplane. Mostly she just loved the bright colors (don’t you?).
So… that’s what I did! I used my ribbon cutter for all the stripes, hand-rolled the balls, and used my white plastic alphabet cutters for his name! I used an Xacto blade to trace around the letters on the contrasting green fondant!
Other than the red fondant, this entire cake was done with homemade marshmallow fondant. On the inside, the cake was red velvet for the top tier and butter for the bottom tier. Both were filled with cream cheese buttercream!
Did I miss any details? Do you have any questions about this cake? Please leave them in the comments and I’ll do my best to answer and help out!
