When doing a little digging on my computer the other day, I accidentally found a folder with three cakes I did a more than a year ago and had never shared. This Chocolate Music Cake is one of them.
This cake wasn’t flashy but I was really happy with the way it turned out. My friend Narshunda ordered it for her husband’s birthday and asked that it be all chocolate with yellow/gold writing and music notes.
I wanted to keep it simple and masculine… and of course, delicious!
Months before I had bought these alphabet candy molds and music molds and never used them, so this was the perfect opportunity! In addition to looking nice – the letters and music notes tasted good too because I used melted chocolate instead of fondant to make them!
Anyway, this was an 8″ square cake – the flavor was dark chocolate cake with chocolate buttercream! It was about 4″ tall.
Do you have any questions about this cake? Leave me a comment and I’ll answer if I can!
And while you’re here, be sure to check out the details of some other manly cakes I’ve done…
Hi Rose
Would you share a moist dark chocolate cake recipe please.
Thank you
Kamala
This is my recipe: chocolate cake.
How do you dye your white chocolate. Mine is either too stiff or by the time I get the color right with adding oil that it becomes runny
Rose,
Can you tell me where you find your molds. I am always looking for great molds to add accents to my cakes.
Thanks,
Cindy E.
I buy them on Amazon, eBay
, and sometimes Country Kitchen Sweetart.
