What can I say? I have died and gone to blogging heaven – I’m being paid to make a Chocolate Overload Brownie Sundae. Does life get any better? Could my job be any better? I think not.
I don’t mean to ramble, but seriously… it feels like a dream for it to be my job to bake and eat and share recipes like this!
Brownies. Chocolate. Ice Cream.
I’m taking a fantastic, versatile baking mix that easily allows me to dream up all kinds of chocolate desserts. Let’s just let that sink in for a moment.
For this Chocolate Overload Brownie Sundae, I was able to create the “wow factor” by adding just a couple of basic ingredients to the brownies. If you’re curious. this is NESTLÉ® TOLL HOUSE® Brownies & More Brownie Baking Mix with Semi-Sweet Chocolate Morsels, topped with vanilla ice cream, then made completely drool-worthy by pouring on the chocolate syrup and more mini chocolate chips.
In addition to being completely amazing, this recipe is just 3 easy steps. One, two, three steps people … and you can enjoy this dessert as much as we did! It’s so easy, I think it’s a stretch to call it a recipe! Let me show you how to make it …
Chocolate Overload Brownie Sundae
First you need to run by your local Kroger and grab the ingredients! The star of this recipe is from the new Nestle Toll House Baking Mixes product line – these mixes are not only premium but also highly versatile. Bonus… you can grab this Ibotta Offer to earn a $.75 rebate!
I purchased two flavors (being a good blogger and all), but decided to just use NESTLÉ® TOLL HOUSE® Brownies & More Cookie Baking Mix with Semi-Sweet Chocolate Morsels this time. However, you could use NESTLÉ® TOLL HOUSE® Brownies & More Cookie Baking Mix with Butterfingers and this recipe would be equally delicious!
PS. If you love the idea of mixing up your desserts, you could also try the new NESTLÉ® TOLL HOUSE® Cookies & More Cookie Baking Mix with Semi-Sweet Chocolate Morsels or NESTLÉ® TOLL HOUSE® Cookies & More Cookie Baking Mix with Butterfingers.
Here’s what you’ll need:
- 1 box of NESTLÉ® TOLL HOUSE® Brownies & More Cookie Baking Mix with Semi-Sweet Chocolate Morsels
- 1 egg
- 1/2 cup vegetable oil
- 3 Tbsp. water
- Vanilla ice cream
- Chocolate syrup
- Mini-chocolate chips
Step 1. This will be the hardest of the 3 steps and it’s so easy you could do it with your eyes closed! Are you ready? Bake the brownies according to the package directions! Okay – so that does entail a few more steps but they’re so easy!
Preheat your oven to 325°F and spray an 8″ square baking pan with non-stick cooking spray. Then in a medium mixing bowl, stir together the brownie mix, egg, oil and water until well combined. Stir in 2/3 cup chocolate morsels.
Bake for 10 minutes, then pull it out and add the remaining 1/3 cup chocolate morsels! Bake an additional 20-25 minutes until a toothpick comes out clean, then cool on a wire rack completely before cutting (this part is hard!! 😉 ).
Because nobody wants to wait until they’re cool to eat a brownie… right!?
Step 2. Top with ice cream.
No, seriously… it’s that easy. I chose a yummy vanilla ice cream but if you want to get really crazy, you could go with chocolate or cookies & cream. One scoop will be plenty for this rich, perfect dessert.
Step 3. Add toppings.
Chocolate syrup and mini-chocolate chips are really just the “icing on the cake”… or the chocolate on the sundae!? Yes, I’m a dork. But I’m a dork who got to enjoy this amazing dessert. And I’d do it again.
I had to redo these pics a couple of times – which was really torture having to eat bite after bite…
