This weekend marks my last big "work" weekend for this year and today is going to be a busy one! My to-do list is longer than my arm today and I'm almost scared of all the things I need to do. For that reason, this post is gonna be short today. Just a quick, fun, easy idea that could make a really eye-catching centerpiece. Make a Christmas Cupcake Tree!
First, you're going to need some cake stands or a cupcake stand. I used a couple of white cake stands and a tiny cupcake pedestal for the top. You could get creative and make this work with things you have on hand ... I used to use candle stands to display cupcakes and they looked cute too!
Anyway, I had 3 dozen vanilla cupcakes, frosted with green vanilla buttercream and sprinkled with Christmas nonpariels. I used Sixlets for the top of each cupcake (you can find Christmas Sixlets at Walmart now!).
You can see how I frost cupcakes here (a video tutorial) and for this particular batch of cupcakes, I used an Ateco Tip #825 from this Ateco Large Tube set (my favorite set of frosting tips for cupcakes!!).
And that's really all I can tell you... just stack them up and you're done! If you absolutely don't have anything you can stack to make the tree shape, you could also arrange them on the table in a "flat" tree shape - sort of like these over at Taste of Home.
Do you have any questions? Will you be baking any cupcakes for Christmas this year?
