I’ve been following Anne Heap on Pink Cake Box for ages and I am always in awe of her amazing cakes!
I nearly fainted when she actually came to my blog and left a comment about one of my cakes (this Golf Bag Groom’s Cake) where I attempted to copy her design. And ohemgee… I just realized I never replied to her comment (face palm!!).
Anywho, right now her Craftsy Cake Toppers Techniques class is on sale for $24.99 and if you want to learn how to make figures for cakes – you want to learn from Anne Heap!
Her figures are always perfection and this class offers hours of instruction so we can all learn how to make them!
Here’s a little blurb about the class:
Anne Heap teaches you how to model cake toppers that are too adorable for words. Learn how to color, structure and form gum paste into a sleeping baby, a sitting boy, a sitting pregnant lady and a standing woman. These characters are so cute you could almost eat them up! Adorn your cakes with these colorful figurines and apply the techniques learned in class to model an endless variety of cute characters. Start with the basics of working with gum paste, and learn how to use gel colors to produce realistic skin tones. Then sculpt your toppers and dress them with fashionable gum paste outfits that you create – no sewing machine required! Support your figures with skewers and wire to place them in a wide variety of positions. Your toppers will take the cake!
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again… the awesome thing about Craftsy Classes is that you own them for life! You can watch them as often as you want, any time you want… even from your house in your PJ’s… which is my preferred way to take a cake class ;).
