With only just over one day left to enter your cake in the July Who Takes the Cake Contest… I thought it would be a perfect time to remind you to enter now, enter NOW! And of course, also to introduce to you Elisa from3 D Eli Cakes : May Who Takes the Cake Winner!
So, let’s do it – let me tell you about the winner! And again remind you to ENTER YOUR CAKE in this month’s contest – you could win a beautiful cake stand!!
I asked Elisa from D Eli Cakes to share a little about herself and her business (and its a beautiful story – please read and go like her Facebook page here!):
I am 35 years old, married to the best husband (Carlos) and mom to 3 beautifull girls (Rebecka-10, Jennifer-8 and Stephanie-7). I live in Guadalajara, Mexico (I have most of my life). My husband and I, both work at a Christian church that my parents founded 33 years ago. I have loved baking ever since I was a little girl. I began decorating cakes when my daughters started having birthday parties. 🙂 People always told me I should try selling cakes, but life was too hectic for me while my girls where young, and I preferred dedicating my time to them.
About 2 years ago (September 2013) my husband and I decided to give the cake business a try. I had a little more free time. The idea of my cake shop is that one day my girls can work along with me (if they want to), we figured it is a neat business they can do from home an2d make extra money while they continue to study. My cake shop is called D´Eli cakes, and our goal is to make pretty and original cakes that taste great!!!
Currently I bake cakes for a local resturant and several coffe shops. And take orders for decorated cakes. I love baking and decorating cakes, it has been wonderful to be able to do this more often and improve my skills. And it is so neat seeing my daughter begin to love it too!!! My web site is www.delicakeshop.com (it will be up and running fully soon)!
