Good morning peeps! I’m so excited about this week of blogging! I have some exciting news to share with you later today and I have it on the schedule to share with you a new recipe, a new tutorial, and I’m going to share with you how much money I earned from this blog in 2015! Exciting stuff I tell ya!
Okay but for now… do you have kids? If so, you don’t want to miss out on this! I totally failed you guys by not mentioning this earlier but gosh – I’ve just been slammed with one thing after the next and I had a really busy cake week last week (remember? 4 cakes!)! Anyway… if you have kids, you’re gonna want to read this because it might lead to you taking a night off from cooking (or more!!).
If you’ve been reading here for any time at all, you know my kids are a critical part of my business. I could not do all the cakes I do every week without their help. Caleb makes all of my frosting – Sarah makes all of my batter. My husband (okay – he’s not a kid really, but still… ) makes all of my fondant!
And if they’re not specifically working on cake, they help me in other ways. While I’m decorating a cake – they make supper or cook breakfast… for the whole family! YES!
I’m not even kidding – at least 2-3 nights each week my husband and I sit back and let our kids cook for us! It’s so, so nice to be able to take a break and let them do the cooking… plus they’re learning invaluable skills!
SO anyway… I’m a BIG fan of kids in the kitchen. They need to learn skills, to learn to cook and be self-sufficient, and to be responsible with things like ovens and knives. And another thing… they might love it more than you think! Some of my kids don’t get too excited about it, but others absolutely love it! My son Noah will not miss an episode of Master Chef Kids… so I know he’s gonna love this course!
SO, Katie over at Kitchen Stewardship has put together an amazing course for kids… the Kids Cook Real Food eCourse! This course has different levels for kids ages 2 to teen! Yippee!!
