Description

This Easy Homemade Caramel Sauce is rich, buttery, and ready in about 10 minutes with just 4 simple ingredients… brown sugar, heavy whipping cream, salted butter, and vanilla extract. No candy thermometer, no corn syrup, and no babysitting boiling sugar! It’s the perfect topping for vanilla ice cream, apple slices, apple pie, cinnamon rolls, or even a splash in your morning coffee. Once you taste it, you’ll never buy the jarred stuff again!

Instructions

  1. In a saucepan, combine the brown sugar, butter, salt, and heavy whipping cream.
  2. Bring to a boil and cook, stirring constantly, for 5-7 minutes or until thickened.
  3. Remove from heat and stir in the vanilla extract.
  4. Let cool slightly, then pour into a jar or container with a lid.
  5. Serve immediately or store in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks in an airtight sealed container.
  6. To reheat, warm in a microwave-safe bowl for 30 seconds. Stir, then heat for an additional 10 seconds or longer if needed.
