Description

A spicy-sweet condiment made with just 3 simple ingredients in about 7 minutes! Perfect for drizzling on fried chicken, pizza, biscuits, and so much more.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 Ounces Honey
  • 1 Tablespoon Apple Cider Vinegar
  • 1/2 Tablespoon Crushed Red Pepper

Items Needed:

Instructions

  1. Combine all of the ingredients in a small saucepan over low to medium heat.
  2. Slowly heat the mixture without stirring. When small bubbles begin forming around the edges and the honey has thinned out, remove it from the heat.
  3. Use it right away while it’s warm, or pour it into a mason jar and cover. Let it sit for about an hour to cool and thicken slightly. Enjoy!

Notes

  • Store your hot honey in an airtight container. I like mason jars best! Keep it anywhere you would normally store honey—somewhere cool and dry. It will keep for several months, and honestly, I’ve never had a batch go bad on me. Do not freeze it.
  • Feel free to adjust the amount of crushed red pepper to suit your taste. Use less if you prefer a milder hot honey or add more if you like things extra spicy.
  • I usually leave the crushed red pepper flakes in my honey, but you can strain them out if you prefer a smooth honey or don’t want it to continue getting spicier as it sits. To remove the pepper flakes, simply pour the hot honey through a fine-mesh strainer as soon as it comes off the stove, while it’s still warm and thin.
