Description

Buttery, garlicky green beans finished with fresh lemon juice and parmesan cheese. An easy side dish ready in 15 minutes!

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 lb fresh green beans, trimmed
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/8 teaspoon pepper
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1/2 lemon, juiced
  • Parmesan cheese, grated (optional)

Instructions

  1. Heat oil and melt butter in a large skillet over medium heat. Once melted, add the green beans, onion powder, salt, and pepper and stir to coat evenly.
  2. Cover and cook for 8-10 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  3. When the green beans are tender yet slightly crisp, add the garlic and cook for another minute.
  4. Stir in freshly squeezed lemon juice.
  5. Sprinkle with parmesan cheese and serve.

Notes

  • Make sure the beans are completely dry after washing to prevent oil splatter when adding them to the skillet.
  • Fresh green beans work best for this recipe, as canned or frozen ones contain excess moisture and can become mushy.
  • For crisper green beans, reduce the cooking time.
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for 3-4 days. Reheat in a skillet over medium heat.
