1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice (or white vinegar)
1 cup less one tablespoon milk, any type
Place one tablespoon of lemon juice into a 1 cup measuring cup. Fill a measuring cup with milk until the total liquid is 1 cup.
Stir gently and allow to rest for 5 minutes.
Buttermilk substitute can be used immediately in any recipe where cultured buttermilk is called for.
