I planned to share this cake yesterday, but I never found the time.
You see…my beautiful little girl Sarah headed off to camp yesterday. Five days… four nights… away from me.
From all of us actually, but I’m Mommy, so I’m quite certain is hardest on me. And although she’s the one who got teary-eyed here… the only reason I wasn’t crying like a baby was that I wanted her to be encouraged, have fun and not be more upset by a blubbering Mommy.
My and my friend Amy drove the girls up to camp, then we did some shopping for VBS and cake supplies. The day took longer than I planned, so I just never sat down to blog.
Anyway, so I’m sharing today instead.
This cake was for my cousin’s little girl…. so that makes it very special and sweet.
This cake was designed to match this party theme… Flutterby Butterflies 1st Birthday!
And I sort of used the same concept as the Black & White Flowers 40th birthday cake that I did recently.
I added tylose to the blue and pink fondant to make the number and the butterflies. For the small butterflies, I used the PME Butterflies Plunger Cutter Set. It’s the same ones I used for the big Butterflies & Flowers birthday cake.
Anyway, I think that’s everything!
