I hope you are all having a wonderful 4th of July!! We stayed home today (so far) and enjoyed a quiet, peaceful day with just “us”. However, in just a bit, we’re going to pack up and drive over to Natchez, grab a bucket of chicken, and watch fireworks over the Mississippi River at dark.
For dessert, we’re going to have these patriotic cupcakes I whipped up this afternoon. I was inspired by TidyMom, although mine didn’t turn out nearly as cute, and well…for some reason my camera was ‘off’ today. The pics have a slight yellow tint to them and the pics are blurry. (There was probably a smudge or something on my lens that my camera was trying to focus on…no idea how that would happen at my house)…ahem.
But overall, they turned out pretty cute and very yummy! I used my wedding cake recipe, and for some of the cupcakes, I make part of the batter red, part blue, and left some white. I also used buttercream icing on some, cream cheese icing on others…and then I just sprinkled!
Do you have any questions about these cupcakes? Please feel free to leave a comment and I’ll help if I can!
