For a Nautical-themed wedding, I made this Hexagon Anchors Wedding Cake and it was a huge hit! Five tiers of different flavors of cake covered with homemade marshmallow fondant and simply decorated with anchors and fondant ribbons.
I originally shared a picture of this cake when I shared my Homemade Butter Pound Cake recipe. Why? Because a couple of tiers of this cake were made with that very recipe!
There were also tiers of Carrot Cake and Hummingbird Cake (recipe not posted). They were all filled with Cream Cheese Frosting, then covered in homemade marshmallow fondant. I used my fondant smoothers and a lot of hard work to get the cakes smooth and shaped properly.

A few more details you might wonder about...
- The cake is displayed on this 18-inch square silver platform cake stand.
- The topper is one of these silver monogram cake toppers (choose your letter!). They're very inexpensive and really pretty!
- The ribbons you see coming out from under the edges of the cake are "wedding cake pulls" or "wedding cake charms." Despite being a Mississippi girl my whole life, I had never heard of this tradtion prior to this wedding. But my understanding is that it is a southern tradition (or maybe a New Orleans tradition) often taking place at the bridesmaid luncheon or the wedding. You can learn more about that here.
