Instructions

  1. Add the sugar and molasses to the food processor and blend on high for 1 minute.
  2. Remove about half of the sugar and set it aside in a mixing bowl.
  3. Blend the sugar remaining in the processor for about 1 more minute, or until no large molasses lumps remain.
  4. Transfer the blended sugar to its own bowl.
  5. Return the reserved sugar to the food processor and blend for about 1 minute, or until no large molasses lumps remain.
  6. Stir both batches together and enjoy!

Notes

  • Storage: Store in an airtight container on the counter for up to 2 months. Add a moisture absorber to help reduce clumping. Do not freeze.
  • Molasses: Use standard dark unsulphured molasses, available at Walmart and most grocery stores. Avoid blackstrap molasses.
  • Light or dark: Use 3 tablespoons of molasses for light brown sugar or 6 tablespoons for dark brown sugar.
  • Lumps: Tiny molasses lumps are fine. Keep blending until they disappear, when desired.
