Hey, hey, hey… it’s Friday!! And I want to share this Hot Pink Buttercream Roses Cake with Monogram.
Well, actually it’s Wednesday when I’m writing this, but this week I’ve been gone on a mission trip (weird to write in past tense for a future post) and I had to write my posts ahead of time (last week) so I wouldn’t leave you all hanging this week! Fun stuff, huh?
I’m actually in Kentucky this week – doing work with my whole family (literally – my hubby, kids, parents, siblings, their families, etc.) and many other members of our church.
Since I’m writing this in advance, I cant’ really tell you how it’s going but I believing that God is going to do some amazing work while we’re here and I do hope and pray we are able to bless the people of the community we’re in.
Anywho… this is another one of those cakes where I won’t share a million details (because there aren’t a million details to share and I’ve posted so many cakes like this already), but I will give you the basic run-down below and if you have any questions, you can leave me a comment!
But I will tell you one thing. This was one of those cakes where every thing did not go as planned. I made this topper out of gum paste (cutting it out with the Pazzles Inspiration Cutter) and let it dry. My plan was to stand it up on the cake.
However… the day of delivery, I decided to paint it with piping gel and cover it with luster dust to give the cake some extra bling… except the moisture from the piping weakened the topper and it would no longer stand up without sagging. I was sad – but there was nothing to be done at the 11th hour except lay it flat on the cake and go on.
I still think it would’ve been more “wow” had I been able to stand up the cake topper, but it wasn’t too bad like this. My client was super excited to see the cake she had ordered for her sister-in-law and she absolutely loved it! In the end… all was okay.
So here’s what I can tell you about this cake:
- 9″ round vanilla cake
- Hot Pink vanilla buttercream piped with a Wilton 1M Tip
- Homemade marshmallow fondant for the plaque
- Plaque cutter
- Pazzles Inspiration Cutter to cut out the topper and monogram (read about my experience with this machine here)
- Electric Pink Gel Color in the frosting
- Silver Disco Dust
- Piping Gel
Do you have any questions about this cake? If so, leave me a comment and I’ll do my best to answer and help out!
