I’ve been seeing these posts pop up everywhere, so I thought it would be fun to dig into my stats and share My 9 Most Popular Posts of 2015.
Why not 10? I know… 10 would be the more popular number but I’d love for you to finish out my list with YOUR favorite from 2015. Leave me a comment and fill in this blank… my favorite post on Rose Bakes from 2015 is ___________.
It’s going to be incredibly embarrassing if I get a big fat ZERO comments on this post but oh well… no risk, no reward, right?! I guess if push comes to shove, I can leave myself some fake comments. Oy… I’d never really do that. I think. Ha!
Anyway – back to my My 9 Most Popular Posts of 2015. These are all new posts that I actually published in 2015. Would you be surprised to learn that not one of them is a dedicated cake post?!
Not ONE cake post in the top 9.
Even though in my heart, this is a “cake blog”, it’s been apparent for awhile that the posts that are most popular in the world of Google are my tutorials and recipes. And you know what? I’m okay with that!
My cake posts may not be my most popular but that’s where my heart is and cakes will always be the foundation of this blog!
Okay, on with the posts! I’ll count down (up?) to the most popular! (the links are below each photo)…
#9 – How to Start a Food Blog & Make Money With It. I’m really proud that this post is one of the most popular. I absolutely love food blogging and while I don’t share about it a lot – I’m passionate about women being able to stay home and earn a good income! I’m currently earning around $3000-$4000 per month from this blog! WOAH – yeah!! That’s exciting, huh?! Be sure to click over and read the post to learn more!
#8 – Perfect Roll-Out Sugar Cookies. I stand behind the proclamation that this is a perfect recipe for roll-out sugar cookies! I’m not a cookie decorator but this recipe ROCKS!
#7 – 3 Ways to Avoid Domed Cakes. If you struggle with big domes on your cakes – be sure to check out my tips to stop that from happening! They’r easy and cheap fixes!
#6 – Homemade Vanilla Extract. Vanilla extract is so easy to make and with a little extra work, you can turn it into beautiful, useful gifts! OH and it’s easy… so much easier than you might imagine!
#5 – How to Decorate a Cake Board & Matching Bunting Topper. Okay, this might qualify as a cake post but since it’s actually a tutorial about the cake board & topper, it’s not what I consider a “dedicated” cake post (strictly about the CAKE). Seriously though, this is a really easy and super versatile way to make a pretty cake board and topper! Check it out!
#4 – “Basket of Apples” OREO Cookie Balls (Perfect Gift for Teachers!). These OREO Cookie Balls are so cute and fun!! And delicious, of course 😉
#3 – Marinated Cheese. If you love cheese, you’re going to love this make-ahead appetizer recipe! It’s unique and beautiful and oh-so-tasty! Planning a New Years or Super Bowl party? You should give this recipe a try!
And last but not least… my #1, most read and most popular post from 2015….
#1 – How to Make Perfect Petit Fours. For years I dreamed of making petit fours after having some mouth-watering ones at a baby shower. But every time I’d try or even taste them again – I was disappointed. Until this recipe. It came from my friend Angela and after tweaking the frosting – I could not be more in love with a tiny cake! If you’re intimidated by Petit Fours – you must read this post. I share step by step instructions (with pictures) plus the delicious recipes!
PS . My 10th my popular post actually was a cake. A real, full-blown cake post. If you’re curious… it was this one!
And that’s it peeps!! Only one more day until the end of 2015 and I’m looking forward to a fantastic 2016!
OH – don’t forget… leave me a comment filling in this blank…. My favorite post on Rose Bakes from 2015 is ________________. And if you wanna help me out some more – tell me what you’d like to see more of in 2016!!
