I’ve done my share of ladybug cakes, but this was a new design and I had a little wiggle room to make it unique!
For Kylee’s cake, her Mom specifically asked for the bright pink and green, the addition of daisies and the big bow… along with the “1” on top!
To go along with the big cake, she also wanted a smash cake. I made it with the Wilton Sports Ball pan.
Here are a few other tools I used to make these cakes:
- Round Cookie Cutters for the ladybug spots (on the smash cake)
- Grass Tip (for the border on the smash cake)
- Daisy Cutters Set
- Flower Cutters Set
- Frill Cutters (Set #3) for the borders on the big cake
- Funky Alphabet Cutters for the name
The cake was all white wedding cake with vanilla buttercream. To attach the borders you can follow this how to add a ribbon border to a cake tutorial and the how to put stars on wires tutorial for the spray on the top!
