I did a Frozen Cake yesterday. An Ombre Buttercream Roses Frozen Cake, to be exact. And I got to wondering how many cakes like this I’ve done. The answer? Four that I can find in my files. There may be more that I haven’t labeled and therefore cannot search as “Frozen” but four popped up in that search.
Wanna See? They all look pretty similar… for the one up top, I sprayed PME Pearl Spray (love that stuff – it smells SO good and is so pretty!) on it after I finished which gave it a beautiful shimmery look (that you may or may not can see). I also used a frilly ribbon around the edge. It was my daughter Sarah’s idea and I think it was perfect!
This one was smaller – and had a name on the board. I used my Funky Alphabet Cutters.
Then there was this one. Nothing too different here except I used one different snowflake cutter from the first two. All of the snowflakes on these cakes and cupcakes are done with either homemade marshmallow fondant or Satin Ice gum paste. Note: all snowflake cutters linked below 🙂
This last Frozen cake wasn’t quite as “ombre” as the others, but it had a glittery “7” topper. I cut the “7” with some of my new favorite Not Just Cakes by Annie Cutters. So.Awesome. And the Funky Alphabet cutters again for the name.
