Hey ya’ll… are you ready for 2015? I guess I am… I haven’t really thought about it much (sadly). I’ve just been relaxing. A lot.
I didn’t really plan it, but it’s been so refreshing to take a break from blogging & social media and just breathe more over the last couple of weeks. I didn’t unplug completely, but I just let it go for the most part. And honestly, I’m having a hard time getting back into a groove.
And I’m not just talking online stuff… in the past 25 days I’ve covered only ONE cake in fondant. One. In nearly a month. And it was this one… eeeek!!!
Anyway, I’m back to work this week … I have a wedding cake and two baby showers! And while I’m getting back to work at my real-life business, I’m also aiming to get back to blogging!
When I decided to write a post tonight, I opened up my photos folder and went to the oldest cake pictures not posted and realized that I’m still blogging cakes from 2013. Ugh.
SO – I’ve set a goal to post all of my unposted 2013 stuff by mid-January – starting with this Pink Jungle Baby Shower cake I finished back in November 2013. Oy!
Since I’ve rambled on and on about what’s
not been going on with me, I’ll jump straight to the details on the cake!
Here are some close-ups of the leaves and vines …
They were pretty easy to do – I did lots of different shapes to give some variety to the design!
The little bows on each animal were made with this Martha Stewart Silicone mold. The eyes on both animals were black sugar pearls. Modeling animals is not my strong suit, but I was proud of the way they turned out!
And that’s that! What do you think? OH – and do you have any tips for getting back into work mode after a break? Because I could really use them 😉
