Going through my archives after sharing the rustic anniversary cake on Tuesday, I came across another rustic cake that I had to share! This Rustic Burlap & Turquoise Flowers Wedding Cake.
It's not my first time to do a burlap themed cake... it was loosely based on this Burlap & Lace Wedding Cake I did quite awhile back. But I did change this one up a bit and gosh... I loved the way it turned out! Let's get down to the details...
Rustic Burlap & Turquoise Flowers Wedding Cake
I rolled up some ribbons of fondant burlap to make the burlap roses, then I mixed in some gum paste roses and tiny turquoise flowers made with the small flower cutter/punch from this Wilton Gum Paste Flowers set.
This cake was 5", 7" and 10" tiers of white sour cream cake, filled and covered with vanilla buttercream. I baked the cakes in my favorite Magic Line pans. The decorations were all fondant and gum paste.
PS. Isn't that stand gorgeous?! The bride got it at a local thrift store! I offered to buy it from her if she ever wants to part with it... I'm in love! If any of you know where stands like this are sold - please share!!
Okay - did I forget anything? If so, leave me a comment asking your questions and I'll do my best to answer if I can!
