Back in August, I made this Under the Sea smash cake specifically for little Carlee to have pics made for her first birthday! Isn’t that a fun idea?
Some of my most favorite pictures to see are of little ones tearing into their first birthday cake. Do you remember my Asher’s first birthday pic? Love, love, love!
Anywho…. I had planned to make this a 6″ round vanilla cake, but somehow ended up with a 7″ round vanilla cake. I can’t remember if I just grabbed the wrong pans, or maybe I had extra batter that day… but anyway, it was two layers of vanilla cake and it was 7″.
I made the number topper following this tutorial (I think I made this topper before my tutorial so it looks a little different, but it’s the same concept).
For the seahorse, I printed a template and cut it out, then used food markers and edible glitter to decorate!
I’ll have pictures of her big birthday cake coming soon! And that’s it really… except for a picture of little Carlee with her cake (click to enlarge):
