It's a rainy day here in southern Mississippi and I have a headache and am feeling pretty blah. There's not a lot to say about this Tropical Flowers Pastel Birthday cake. I guess that's why I chose to share it today... so I could keep things short.
The cake was simple, pretty and was easy to put together! The cake was vanilla with a pineapple filling and cream cheese frosting.
When Paula ordered it, she only asked that it be pastel with tropical-looking flowers and that it have the pineapple flavor in it somewhere. She said her sister really loved green, lavender and pale yellow - so I stuck with those colors.
I used the flower punches from the Wilton Gum Paste Flowers set and the letters were Fox Run Alphabet cutters. I used a tiny #2 round tip to add centers to the flowers with white buttercream. And I was done.
Paula absolutely loved the cake and she said her sister was blown away by the pineapple filling with cream cheese frosting. I had never made pineapple filling before so I was thrilled to hear how much she loved it!
So, that's it! I'm off wash down some ibuprofen with a big Diet Dr. Pepper.
