Hey Peeps! Are ya'll having a good weekend? I had a very, very busy week this week and I thought I'd sit down for a few minutes and share with you What I've been doing this week... 4 cakes and a decluttering challenge!
In addition to 4 cake orders, I've had a few other things going on! First - I've been doing a decluttering challenge over on my personal blog. So far I've gotten rid of almost 300 things; most of them have been small things but it still feels good and I'm hoping this will be the start of something bigger!
Okay - so... do you wanna see some CAKE?
This is the first cake I finished for this week:
Wild Indian Cake with Teepee Cake Topper
I didn't expect it to be, but this Wild Indian Cake with Teepee Cake Topper might be one of my most favorite little boy cakes ever. It just came together perfectly and I couldn't have been happier with it. You can get all the details and more pictures of this cake by clicking here.
Next up, I finished this Ribbon Rose Watercolor Cake:
Ribbon Rose Watercolor Cake
Actually, this is not the exact cake, but it was nearly identical to this one. Except yesterday I only snapped a few pictures with my phone as soon as I finished it, then forgot to get the cake out of the frig and take better pics before delivering it. 🙁
However, I do have a video recorded of me making this cake.... cross your fingers and maybe I'll get it posted before the cakes are out of style...hahahaha!
Cake #3... a simple wedding cake.
Roses Bordered Buttercream Wedding Cake with Wafer Paper Toppers
I'm completely in love with this sweet little wedding cake. And yeah... it's tiny! The tiers are 4", 6" and 8" round cakes. It's white almond sour cream filled and decorated with vanilla buttercream.
The flowers on top are wafer paper! I made them based on a tutorial in Jessica Harris' Craftsy class here (love this class and it's on sale right now!)
The picture might be deceiving... let me show you how small the cake it is:
Ignore how tired I look in this picture... remember, this was my third of four cakes for the day.
Cinderella Carriage Cake
Okay... my final cake. I actually worked on this Cinderella Carriage Cake until 2am Friday night and was unable to finish it, so I gave up, got some sleep and got up this morning (Saturday) and worked on it a couple of more hours!
It's 7" and 9" round cakes (white almond sour cream colored pink) and the carriage is a 6" round styrofoam ball.
My daughter Sarah (12 years old) made the Cinderella all by herself. The top of the body is a mini doll pick from this set. The bottom is rice cereal treats and she decorated it all with fondant and glitter! I am so proud of the little artist that she's becoming!
The cake wasn't alone... we also made party favors to go with this cake... little bags of Brach's Mellowcreme Pumpkins and little Hershey Kisses Mice (tutorial coming this week!).
Okay... that's it - all of my cake work for this week! Now I'm going to sign off and watch The Martian (on Amazon) with the hubby (yay for date night!). PS. If you aren't a member of Amazon Prime, you can snag it for only $73 this weekend! That's a fantastic price - see why HERE!
Okay... movie time! Goodnight ya'll!
