Today I am sharing "What Will Baby Bee?" Gender Reveal Party Cupcakes! I made these for my cousin Marc and his wife Brittany when they were expecting their second baby last summer.
When Rhonda, the hostess, ordered the cupcakes she asked only that I do a variety of flavors and have them black white and yellow, with flowers and bees to match the theme.
So here are the different things I did...

I think these little beehives were my favorite. We used a worm cookie cutter to make the hive (I'll hae to explain that one in another post). Then used black and yellow food markers to draw on the hive and to make the tiny dots. I used tiny edible bees for the last detail!
I also loved these bees! It was fun adding the tiny little flowers and all the details!
These flowers were probably my second favorite design. I don't think they're a real flower (I don't know flowers!), but I've always been a fan of black & white designs and I loved the POP of these.
I can just see a whole party designed around these cupcakes... can't you? I made these with a rose cutter and let them dry in large flower forms. The centers were done with Satin Ice Black fondant.

The little daisy toppers were sweet too! I added the last of my candy bees on a few of these - I wish I had put the bee on the flowers, but that didn't occur to me until later.
I think this is the mini daisy cutter I used for these, then added a dot of yellow fondant in the middle!
And because they're so much fun, I also made a handful of these "flying bees". You will find my tutorial for these bee cupcake toppers here.
I ended up with five different designs for four dozen cupcakes! I wish I could tell you about the different flavors I included, but somehow I didn't end up with it in my notes and it's been several months since the party!
But I can tell you that Marc & Brittany found out they were having a sweet baby girl and she was born happy and healthy a few months later!
