Have you guys heard of the Write 31 Days Challenge? I’ve participated two or three years in a row over at Rose Atwater, and this year I thought I’d try to complete the challenge there and here. Oh… and today I’m writing about Lollipop & Flower Cookies on Sticks.
What do you think? 31 days of recipes, cakes, tutorials, sales and other fun stuff? Sound good? I hope so!
Since I’m doing this on a whim, I don’t really have a theme or series planned out… I’ll just sort of fly by the seat of my pants each day and decide what to post when I start writing.
Sadly, I’m a little bit handicapped right out of the gate. Last Thursday my laptop took a nosedive off the couch so I don’t have my usual photo editing software, it’s a pain to get pics from my backup drive to this tablet, and this itty-bitty screen is challenging for my 40 year old eyes. #gettingoldsucks
Anyway, all that aside, I’m going to do my best to stick to the challenge and post something new every day. And if you want to get to know me a little better personally, please sign up for my daily emails from my personal blog. For the next 31 days, I’ll be journaling over there at RoseAtwater.com the happenings of my day-to-day life.
I already have Day 1 posted and you can click over to see me in sponge rollers 🙂
And for Rose Bakes today? Cookies!! More specifically,
Lollipop & Flower Cookies on Sticks
Since I’m rushed to get to the party tonight, I’m going to keep the details short & sweet here.
- Roll-Out Cookie Recipe here
- Royal Icing Recipe here
- I used 8″ lollipop sticks.
- I have a tutorial for how to make the cake pop stand here. (using it for a cookie stand today 😉 )
- I used sanding sugar on the wet royal icing to make the cookies sparkly.
- I piped on melted almond bark for the swirly on the lollipops.
- I used the same melted almond bark to stick the sticks to the back of the cookies.
Did I miss anything? Leave me a comment and I’ll do my best to answer!
