Description
Apple Pie Egg Rolls have a brown sugar cinnamon apple pie filling and a deep-fried, golden brown, perfectly crispy egg roll outside. They are a copycat of the Panda Express Apple Pie Roll – but WAY BETTER and you can make them at home anytime you have a craving!
Ingredients
Scale
- Egg Roll Wraps
- 2 cups of Apple Pie Filling (diced finely)
- 1/4 cup of Flour
- 1/3 cup Brown Sugar (packed)
- 1/2 stick of Melted Butter
- 1/2 teaspoon of Cinnamon
- Walnuts (for topping)
- Caramel (for topping)
- Oil
Instructions
- Start by making your strudel. Add your flour, brown sugar, and cinnamon to a bowl. Melt two tablespoons of your butter and add to the bowl. Mix until clumps form. Smash and separate large clumps. Set aside.
- Lay out your egg roll wraps. Place two tablespoons of pie filling down the center. Sprinkle some strudel on top.
- Melt down your remaining butter and brush on the sides, to help hold it together while frying.
- Fold up your bottom corner, followed by both sides, then wrap tightly. You can double wrap but MAKE SURE to cook all the way through both wraps.
- Fill your frying pan with about two inches of oil. Let it heat up. Egg rolls should create a boil when dropped in.
- Drop in your egg rolls one at a time. Flipping halfway through, until both sides are browned and cooked through.
- Place on a serving dish and sprinkle with walnuts. Drizzle with caramel and serve! Apple Pie you can hold in your hand!
