Description

Crispy baked chicken wings coated in a sweet and savory homemade dry rub, then baked on a rack until golden brown. An easy chicken wing recipe that’s perfect for game day or a family dinner!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 pounds of wings (flats and drumettes, or whole wings with wing tips removed)
  • 2 tsp regular paprika
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 1/2 tsp kosher salt
  • 1 tsp black pepper
  • 1/2 tsp Italian seasoning
  • 1 tsp brown sugar
  • 1 tsp chili powder
  • 1 tsp aluminum-free baking powder
  • 2 tbsp olive oil

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 425°F. Line a rimmed baking sheet with foil and set a wire rack on top.
  2. Pat the wings dry with paper towels.
  3. In a small bowl, mix all of the dry rub ingredients.
  4. Place the wings in a large bowl, add the dry rub, and toss to coat evenly.
  5. Drizzle with olive oil and toss again.
  6. Arrange the wings in a single layer on the rack, leaving a little space between each.
  7. Bake for 40 minutes, flipping halfway through.
  8. Increase the oven to 450 degrees F and bake 5 more minutes, until golden brown and the internal temperature reaches 165 degrees F.
  9. Rest for 5 minutes, then serve with your favorite dipping sauce.

Notes

Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for 3-4 days. For more heat, add cayenne pepper or chipotle powder to the rub.
