Description

This Easy Homemade Vanilla Ice Cream is delicious and can be ready in as little as 30 minutes. There are only 3 ingredients – no eggs and no cooking required! It’s soft and creamy and a delightfully simple dessert.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 cups half & half
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 12 teaspoons of vanilla extract. I used 2 but we like vanilla a lot.

You’ll also need:

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, mix together the half & half, sugar, and vanilla.
  2. Pour into the bowl of an ice cream maker.
  3. Place the ice cream maker bowl inside the ice crema maker and fill the outside container with ice. Pour salt over and around the ice.
  4. Place the lid on top onto the ice cream bowl and turn your machine on.
  5. Let it freeze for 20-30 minutes. It took 20 minutes in my Bosch – follow the instructions for your machine if it’s a different brand.
  6. Add more ice and salt as needed.
  7. Enjoy immediately as soft serve ice cream, or place in a freezer safe container and freeze at least 2 hours for a more scoopable ice cream.

Notes

No machine? Pour the mixture into a freezer-safe container and place in the freezer. Stir every 2-4 hours once  it begins to freeze. ice crystals form.
