Description

For a festive adult treat at your next Christmas party, try the Grinch Shot! The melon liqueur brings a refreshing fruity twist, while the coconut rum delivers a flavorful kick. Add a cherry at the bottom for a perfectly Grinchy finishing touch on your Christmas Shots!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 Ounces Midori
  • 4 Ounces Coconut Rum
  • 4 Maraschino Cherries (optional)

Instructions

  1. Combine the Midori and coconut rum in a cocktail shaker.
  2. Lightly shake, then pour evenly into 4 shot glasses (or more for smaller glasses).
  3. Place a stemless cherry in the bottom of each glass, either before or after pouring for a perfect Grinchy presentation! Note: you can place the cherries in the bottom of each shot glass before pouring!

Notes

  •  Smaller shot glasses work just as well – the mixture will still be even either way.
  •  These shots can be prepared ahead of time and stored in a sealed container in the refrigerator. While they can be kept at room temperature, chilling them in the fridge yields a fresher taste. If prepping ahead, wait to add the cherries until serving.
  •  Not a fan of coconut rum? You can substitute it with another clear alcohol, but be aware that it will significantly change the taste of the shot.
  •  No Midori? Any green melon liqueur works, or try Green Hawaiian Punch or prepared green Kool-Aid for a sweeter shot.
  •  If you want cold shots and also want to serve immediately, chill your ingredients beforehand and shake with ice, then strain the ice cubes out.
  •  For a family-friendly version, you might choose to make Grinch Punch instead 🙂 – it’s a Grinch Christmas drink without alcohol!
