Description

Homemade sweet and spiced cinnamonsugar tortilla chips are an easily made chip for sweet dessert dips. They’re crunchy on the outside, with just enough chew to make them irresistible. Serve with this Apple Pie Dip or another sweet dip for a fun and tasty treat.

Tools Needed:

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit.
  • Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and set aside.
  • In a medium sized mixing bowl, stir together the sugar and cinnamon until thoroughly combined.
  • Place the tortillas on a cutting board and cut them into 8 triangles apiece using a pizza cutter.
  • Place the tortilla triangles onto your prepared baking sheet in a single layer.
  • Melt the butter in small bowl in the microwave for 30 seconds or until melted.
  • Use a pastry brush to brush the butter onto the tops of the tortilla triangles.
  • Sprinkle the cinnamon sugar over the tortillas, then flip them over and repeat the process with the butter and cinnamon sugar again on the other sides.
  • Bake for 12-15 minutes, flipping the tortilla chips halfway through baking to ensure that both sides crisp up.
  • Remove from the oven and allow to cool completely before serving.

Notes

  • You can use salted or unsalted butter. I like a little saltiness to my chips, but you can use unsalted butter if you prefer.
  • You can also use apple pie spice in place of the cinnamon if you want to add a little extra flavor and dimension to your chips.
  • To store, place the chips inside a zip-lock gallon sized bag lined with a paper towel to absorb any excess moisture.
  • Leftovers are best when consumed within 1-2 days after baking.
  • You can also serve these chips with other sweet dips, or eat them on their own.
