Red Velvet Groom’s Cake with Pecans, Cross Horseshoe Brand, & Rope Border
This is sort of random for me to be posting this today – but here it is… a Red Velvet Groom’s Cake with Pecans, Cross Horseshoe Brand, & Rope Border.
This is my baby brother’s groom’s cake. I did it way back in 2010. My brother’s wedding (and wedding cake) is what sparked this venture into my cake business and blog.
I have a picture of this cake posted on this other groom’s cake post, but I wanted Jake’s cake to have it’s very own post… so here it is.
This was a 9×13 red velvet cake (two layers) filled and covered with cream cheese frosting. I then covered the entire thing in pecan pieces and centered his horse brand on top.
The brand was made with white chocolate and milk chocolate. I rolled out several very long ropes of chocolate fondant, then braided them for the border. It was a lot of work… but so worth it! He loved his cake and that’s all that mattered to me!
Did I miss any details? Do you have any questions about this cake? Please leave them in the comments!
