4th of July Charcuterie Board

I’m a last-minute kind of girl sometimes and this 4th of July Charcuterie Board is the perfect last-minute 4th of July appetizer or snack board!

I chose to mix this board and include sweet and savory foods but you could also do 4th of July dessert charcuterie board using only fruit, berries, cookies and candy.

Or you can make a savory Fourth of July Charcuterie Board that is all meats, cheeses, and nuts (although the blue foods might be challenging).

My point is, that with some random, versatile ingredients (like cheese, crackers, fruits, vegetables, nuts, etc), you can put this recipe together quickly and customize the July 4th Charcuterie Board in any way you like.

A wooden charcuterie board, large cutting board, or tray should be used to display the foods. I have tons of information about charcuterie boards here. I also used a small rectangular platter on one corner. If you’re shopping online, here are ones I suggest:

Cutting board and knife to cut up any ingredients that need it.

Star cutters if you want to add the stars on the July 4th Charcuterie Board.

4th of July Dessert Charcuterie Board

If you wanted a dessert board, you could skip savory foods and only use fruits, cookies and candies. Here are some sweet suggestions I haven’t already mentioned:

  • Butter Cookies (white)
  • Snowball Cookies (white)
  • Wrapped Hershey Kisses (white – even though actually silver ;))
  • Swedish Fish (red)
  • Red Jolly Ranchers
  • Red Vines
  • Blue Raspberry Sour Patch Kids (blue)
  • Blue Jolly Ranchers

Pro Tips

  • I like to do an odd number of stripes. I did 4 red stripes and 3 white stripes.
  • Serve with an assortment of dips on the side. Bonus points if you have cute white star bowls, or red and blue star bowls.

Storage Suggestions

Except for crackers and cookies, this charcuterie board could be made 2-4 hours in advance, covered in plastic wrap and stored in the refrigerator. I’d add the crackers last-minute so they don’t absorb moisture from the other foods and get soggy.

If you have leftovers, you can separate the leftovers into zip-top bags and refrigerate to enjoy the next day!

Serving Suggestions for Patriotic Charcuterie Board

Depending on the type of gathering, this Patriotic Charcuterie board could be served with finger foods, served as an appetizer (like these sausage balls), or served as dessert with the variation above.

You could add ranch dip, onion dip, caramel dip and/or cream cheese fruit dip in small bowls on the side for a little more variety.
