Using store-bought mini donuts is a great way to offer spooky treats to your kids on Halloween morning. And if you’re in a rush to get them out the door for school – that’s not an issue with this recipe.

These Halloween Eyeball Donuts are ready in 10 minutes or less so you can start early with a Happy Halloween!

Tools Needed

  • Small Frosting Tip (optional)

Ingredients

During the Halloween season you can find candy eyeballs at grocery stores, craft stores or big-box stores. And of course, always on Amazon. The other ingredients are available year-round.

 How to Make Eyeball Donuts

  1. Arrange the donuts in a single layer on a plate or any flat dish.
  2. Add a small dab of chocolate frosting in the center dip of each donut -about ¼ teaspoon is plenty, but no need to be exact. (I like to use a piping bag with a small tip to keep things quick, neat, and mess-free.)
  3. Gently press a candy eyeball into the frosting, eye side up. Serve and enjoy!

Pro Tips

  • These creepy eyeball donuts are best enjoyed right away – don’t plan on storing them.
  • Making a big batch? Grab large candy or sugar eyes (bulk bags are perfect!). The tiny ones just don’t give that eerie, wide-eyed stare.
  • Keep your donuts in a cool, dry place before decorating. Warm donuts will melt into a gooey mess—more nightmare than treat!
  • Want to switch things up? Try powdered donuts (or another flavor of mini donuts you love) instead of chocolate for a different spooky look.
