Homemade Buttermilk Ranch Dressing Recipe

Today I’m going to share with you a Homemade Buttermilk Ranch Dressing Recipe. It’s so much easier than you might think and I daresay, better than any store-bought dressing you’ve ever had.

Homemade Buttermilk Ranch Dressing Recipe

I haven’t dabbled much in making homemade dressings but gosh, me (and my kids) might be addicted to this now that I’ve started! The same day that I made this dressing, my kids not only ate every last drop, but they also begged me to go ahead and make some more so they could have it the next day!

I’d call that a successful recipe!

If you don’t use buttermilk in your kitchen on a regular basis, be sure to read this post: Everything You Ever Wanted to Know about Buttermilk!

So here’s what you’ll need to make the dressing:

  • 1 cup mayonnaise
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1/2 cup buttermilk
  • 3 Tbsp fresh chives, chopped
  • 2-3 springs dill, chopped
  • 1 Tbsp fresh parsley, chopped
  • splash of Worcestershire Sauce
  • 2 tsp. minced garlic
  • 1 tsp salt

Alrighty – let’s make some dressing!

Start by adding the mayonnaise, sour cream, and buttermilk to a small bowl. I used a glass measuring cup so I could easily pour it into my bottle later.

Add Buttermilk, Sour Cream and Mayo

Then whisk that together until smooth.

Whisk Ingredients

<Next, chop up your fresh herbs (I’m only showing chives and dill here, but I also add parsley!):
Add a splash of Worcestershire Sauce into the whisked ingredients…

Add Worcestershire Sauce

Then add the fresh herbs, minced garlic, and salt. (if you want to garnish your dressing before serving, reserve a little of the fresh herbs)

Add Fresh Herbs, Garlic, Salt, etc.

Whisk it all together again… then chill it for at least an hour. Garnish (if desired) and serve it cold with your favorite salad, fresh veggies, or anything else you love with Ranch Dressing!

Whisk together and garnish
