Homemade Air Fryer Tortilla Chips are a game changer! With only three ingredients plus an air fryer, they are cheaper and better than store-bought chips! Air Fryer Tortilla Chips
Two snacks are always on tap at my house… popcorn and chips + salsa. My 14-year-old son makes so much homemade salsa (and makes it so often) that he has this recipe memorized.
So it’s no surprise that I buy a lot of tortilla chips. And I mean a lot. That’s why I was so excited to learn how to make tortilla chips in the air fryer. Because I live in the country and we can’t always run to the grocery store when we’re craving a salty snack.
So making my own tortilla chips? Yes please. This is good food made the easiest way possible.
And the best part of making tortilla chips in the air fryer is that this is a super-easy recipe and you only need 3 ingredients to get delicious, crispy chips.

Why You’ll Love Tortilla Chips in Air Fryer
You can use these homemade tortilla chips anywhere you’d use classic tortilla chips. And there are so many reasons to love this recipe.
Easy. Air Fryer Corn Tortilla Chips are an easy, quick snack! They ready in just a few minutes with minimum prep or dishes to clean up.
Healthier than store-bought tortilla chips. Made with less oil and preservatives, you might be able to call these “healthy tortilla chips.”
Customizable. You can use any type of tortilla you like: yellow or white corn tortillas, or flour tortillas. You can also change up the seasonings and use Tajin seasoning, chili powder, cilantro lime pepper salt, etc. for your favorite flavors! Want a sweet snack? Use cinnamon sugar to make an air fryer recipe similar to these Cinnamon Sugar Tortilla Chips.
Crispy and delicious. They remind me a lot of restaurant-style tortilla chips.
Air fryer snacks don’t heat up the kitchen. No need for deep frying or heating up your oven!
Perfect dippers. Use these air fryer chips with your favorite salsa, guacamole, queso, pico de Gallo, or any other dip you can dream up. I love to eat corn dip with my own homemade tortilla chips. And my next combo will include these homemade air fryer tortilla chips with pickle salsa!

- Cutting Board

Ingredients
You only need three simple ingredients to make these tortilla chips in air fryer.

Cooking Spray Substitutes
- If you don’t have cooking spray or don’t prefer to use nonstick cooking spray, you can also brush on a little bit of oil with a pastry brush.
- I’ve also become a huge fan of using extra virgin olive oil with this olive oil spray bottle.

How to Make Air Fryer Tortilla Chips
Can you make tortilla chips in an air fryer? YES!! Making Air Fryer Corn Tortilla Chips could not be easier.
- Using a sharp knife, cut tortillas into sixths, like slices of pie.
- Place them in a single layer in your air fryer basket. When I remember, I like to use a layer of parchment paper underneath them, but it’s not necessary.
- Lightly spray the tortilla triangles with cooking spray and sprinkle with salt.
- Preheat the air fryer to 300°F by running it for at least one minute before cooking.
- Cook the tortilla chips in the air fryer for 8 minutes at 300°F for 7-8 minutes.
- Repeat until all homemade chips are cooked. Enjoy your crispy tortilla chips with your favorite dip or by themselves!

Pro Tips for Homemade Tortilla Chips
- They cook best in one layer. If you overlap, it can cause undercooked or oddly cooked chips.
- You can use other oils or similar ingredients in place of the cooking spray, if you don’t prefer it. The cooking spray simply holds the salt on and helps the chips crisp up.The cooking time may vary depending on the type of air fryer you have.
- Change up the flavors for this crunchy snack by adding different seasonings (instead of just salt) and trying new dips every chance you get!
