Today I want to share with you some Pink Ladybug Cupcakes & Cake Pops! I planned to share these yesterday, but a few things came up that kept me super duper busy and I never got around to writing a blog post!
So... here they are!
The design for these cupcakes came from Hello Naomi over on Flickr. I changed the colors to fit my customer's party and my flowers were a little bit smaller but other than that... the design was all hers!
To do the cupcakes, I hand rolled a small ball of pink marshmallow fondant and a smaller ball of black fondant to make the ladybug. Then I used a black food marker to draw on the line and dots!
For the flowers, I used the flower cutters (punches) from the Wilton Gum Paste Flowers set. The stem was done with my extruder and the leaves were cut with a leaf shaped cutter from this mini cutter set.
I used a 2" round cutter to cut out the white "background". I piped on a small amount of buttercream and spread that out and then smoothed on the white fondant so it would stay put!
Next up... the ladybug cake pops! I hope to do a tutorial on making these soon I've just done a tutorial for making these and let me just say, they're super easy! I've also done them in red for another ladybug party and they're always a hit! Soo... if you wanna do some of these, hop over and see my tutorial for how to make ladybug cake pops!
They were vanilla cake balls dipped in white almond bark (with pink candy coloring added). The dots and line were done with a black candy writer and the head was black fondant. Again... the "How to make ladybugs cake pops" tutorial is here.
My customer also asked about making something for her to display the cake pops, so my sweet, talented husband made this cake pop stand for her. He used a 12" wide board that was 1" thick. I made a grid and marked out the holes, then he cut the board and drilled them. After he was done, he painted it white and that was it!
You can see more details on how to make a cake pop stand here.
I'd love for you to pin any of these images on Pinterest (just hover over the picture and a "Pin It" button will appear) or share my pictures on Facebook!

So sweet! Love them. How do you package cake pops for transporting?
Rose
Thank you! I just box them up! I lay the cake pops flat in a pie box and be gentle moving them around! I have some customers who request that they be individually wrapped, so I do that and then box them up.

What are the dimensions on the board and the spacing? This would be a perfect display stand for the bridal shower I have next month!
