Pro Tips for Perfect Cake Mix Cookies
This Strawberry Cake Mix Cookies recipe is so easy and great – but here are a few tips for even better cookies!
- For perfectly round cookies, use a round cookie cutter to gently shape them as soon as they come out of the oven.
- These cookies are best enjoyed the same day for the softest texture.
- Don’t overbake. They should look slightly underdone in the center when you pull them out.
- You can press a few extra white chips on top of the cookie dough balls before baking for a prettier finish that looks more like a real bakery cookie.

Storage Instructions
These cookies taste amazing fresh from the oven. If you have leftovers, store them in an airtight container at room temperature for 2–3 days. They actually get softer and more moist the longer they sit.
Cake mix cookies also freeze well and are great for making ahead. Once completely cooled, freeze cookies in a single layer (or with wax paper between layers), then transfer to a freezer bag or freezer-safe container. Freeze for up to 3 months and thaw at room temperature before serving.

FAQs
Yes! You can substitute another flavor, but be sure the cake mix is the same weight (13.25 ounces) for best results.
No chilling is required. If you prefer, you can keep unused dough in the fridge while baking batches, but it’s not necessary.
