With summer winding down and “Back to School” just around the corner, you will love having an easy recipe like this one in your back pocket for busy days and nights. If you’re not in the mood to fire up the grill or dirty a bunch of dishes, Air Fryer Hot Dogs are the way to go! In just 10 minutes, you’ll have dinner on the table—no fuss, no mess, and the kids will love it.

Air Fryer Hot Dogs
Do you really need a hot dogs recipe? I know – it seems silly. But the best way to make my day is to show me a delicious recipe that’s ready to eat in 10 minutes or less and that the kids won’t turn their nose up to!
This air fryer method for cooking hot dogs checks all those boxes. It’s an easy way to enjoy a good hot dog with a nice crisp skin, and you don’t have to babysit a grill or a pot of boiling water. Sign. Me. Up.
The best part? You can serve them on paper plates and cleanup is done in just minutes.
Best Air Fryer Hot Dogs
First thing to keep in mind – this meal will be perfect when you pick the best hot dogs for your family. I prefer all beef hot dogs, like Hebrew National or Ball Park Beef Franks. For years, my niece would only eat the Bryan Wieners that were red (no longer made) and then there are other kids in our family who will eat any hot dog – any brand!
Choose your family favorite and it will work for this easy air fryer recipe! You can also use different kind of sausages and cook them the same way! The cook time may vary if the sausage has a bigger diameter but there shouldn’t be a big difference.
Hot Dogs in the Air Fryer
These air fryer hot dogs will have a crispy skin and perfectly juicy center. And my favorite way to serve them? I love slightly crispy hot dogs served in a perfectly toasted bun with some mayo, mustard, chili, and cheese. It’s one of my favorite things for an easy weeknight meal.
These are perfect for a fast back-to-school meal, a busy weekend, 4th of July (if you don’t want to grill), a pool party, or any other ordinary day!

Items Needed
- 2-Quart Air Fryer or Larger – we’ve been using a small basket-style air fryer for a long time, but I just ordered this huge Instant Pot Air Fryer for my big family and I can’t wait for it to arrive!
- Tongs – also a nice tool to remove the hot dogs from the air fryer, but you could also just use a fork.
Ingredients
A list of ingredients is pretty self-explanatory…

- 4 Hot Dogs
- 4 Hot Dog Buns (optional – of course you can eat air fryer hot dogs without buns)
- Hot Dog Toppings
Note: Find the complete recipe in the recipe card at the bottom of the post.
Hot Dog Toppings
Ketchup and yellow mustard are the favorite condiments for most people, but, of course, there are unlimited possibilities. Here are the most common for our family…
- Mustard
- Ketchup
- Mayonnaise
- Relish (sweet or dill) – or maybe some Pickle Salsa
- Hot Dog Chili
- Diced Onions
- Jalapenos
- Shredded Cheese
- BBQ Sauce

How to Make Air Fryer Hot Dogs
- Place the hot dogs inside the air fryer basket in a single layer. A little bit of space between each hot dog is best.
- Set your air fryer oven to 375 degrees F and cook for 10 minutes.
- Repeat if you need more hot dogs!
- Serve the hot dogs in a bun and top with your favorite toppings. Enjoy!

Pro Tips
- You do not need to rotate these as they cook and you still get a perfectly cooked hot dog.
- Store the leftover hot dogs in an airtight container, in the fridge, for up to 5 days. Store in freezer for up to 3 months.
- Reheat in the air fryer for 4-5 minutes for best results.
- Up to 4 hot dogs can be cooked in a small 2-quart air fryer, so it doesn’t take a large one to cook up a good amount of hot dogs. But if you have a larger air fryer, you can make more at one time – just make sure they’re in a single layer and not touching.
