This might be strange thing to share with a cake audience, but it’s been such a big deal to me this past year (2020). I mentioned this in my favorite things here, but I wanted to share more details.
Last December, in 2019, without having a clue what 2020 would hold, I bought a One Line a Day Journal. As a teen and into my college years, I kept detailed dairies (journals) and it was something I loved. Then I stopped.
But when someone shared how much they loved writing one line a day, it sounded doable. And sure enough, when I started writing again daily, it brought some peace back to me.
To write just a thought or two in this little book and small details of the important things happening each day really was something that brought me joy.
I ended up needing a LOT of joy by the time we got to March and from there on out. And as it turns out… I’ve written an entry in my journal every single day this year. Which I think will be really interesting to have a record of in years to come.
Anyway… if you’d like to start a journal, this might be perfect for you and now is the time to order one. You can start 2021 with the small habit of writing “one line a day” about your life. Or maybe what you’re grateful for. Or even little tidbits about how your cake business is growing or changing.
The other great thing about these little journals is they are 5 Year Journals! That’s right… you’ll write in the same little book every day for five years. I imagine as I write my entries next year, it’ll be bittersweet to glance up at the 2020 entries. And it’s held up amazingly well for the first year so I have hope that it’ll hold together for the long haul.
