If you're looking for an easy way to start keeping a journal, I cannot recommend this One Line a Day Journal highly enough! Writing in this five-year memory book has brought me so much joy and I love being able to look back on any given day to see what my thoughts were or what was happening. It's also a great gift idea!
This might be a strange thing to share with a cake audience, but it's been such a big deal to me for the past couple of years. Thanks to this one little book, I've written a journal entry almost every single day of the year.
In 2019, without having a clue what 2020 would hold, I bought a One Line a Day Journal. As a teen and into my college years, I kept detailed diaries (journals) and it was something I loved. Then I stopped.
But when someone shared how much they loved writing one line a day, it sounded doable. And sure enough, when I started writing again daily, it brought some peace back to me. I even managed to reestablish a journaling habit.
Daily Diary
To write just a thought or two in this little book and small details of the important things happening each day really was something that brought me joy. For the first time in years, I was writing a daily diary entry.
I ended up needing a lot of joy by the time we got to March of 2020 and from there on out. And as it turns out… I wrote an entry in my journal every single day that year. Which I think will be really interesting to have a record of in years to come.
I'll be able to look back on important events, forgotten moments, the ups and downs of life in the middle of the epidemic, and even look back to anniversaries and birthdays to see how we celebrated.
It truly helped me find the silver linings in each day and gave me an extra appreciation of life and the things that were good, even when everything felt not-so-good.
Anyway… if you'd like to start a daily journal, this might be perfect for you. And now is the time to order one.
I'm really glad I started writing at the beginning of 2020, but you can start any day of the year.
What do you write in a one line a day journal?
It's a really simple commitment - to start the habit of writing “one line a day” about your life. But what do you write on each page of the journal?
Well, you can make your journal anything you want! Maybe make it into a gratitude journal - writing one (or more) thing you're thankful for each day.
Or write about the progress of your life goals, your business, or your college journey. For us cake decorators... write little tidbits about how your cake business is growing or changing.
It may end up being a keepsake diary for you and a treasure for you or your kids in the future.
A Yearly Journal
The other great thing about this little book is that it's a 5-Year Journal! That's right… you'll write in the same little book every day for five years.
I imagine as I write my entries in successive years, it'll be bittersweet to glance up at the 2020 entries. And so far, it's a very durable book. It held up amazingly well for the first year so I have hope that it'll hold together for the long haul.
So… if this sounds like something you'd enjoy, order one here. There are several pretty designs to choose from. I use this flowery one. My daughter has the one with stars here. Both of our books have metallic page edges and a ribbon page marker to hold your place in the journal.
Final thought: one of these journals would make a perfect present for someone starting a new journey, a great graduation gift, or even a milestone birthday gift. Click the button below to order yours now!
