How to Make Leftover Pulled Pork Sliders
- Place the sweet Hawaiian rolls on a cutting board and carefully slice them horizontally in half, creating one large section of bottoms and one large section of tops. Set the top bun portion aside.
- Spread the warm leftover pulled pork evenly over the bottom buns. If your leftover pork is dry at all, put it in a large mixing bowl and toss with some extra bbq sauce before spreading on the sandwiches.
- Add the coleslaw, spreading it evenly across the top of the pork.

- Place one bread and butter pickle chip on each slider section.
- Drizzle your favorite BBQ sauce over the top of the pulled pork and pickles.

- Carefully place the top of the rolls back onto the sliders.
- In a small bowl, stir together the melted butter and BBQ seasoning.
- Use a basting brush to coat the top of the rolls with the seasoned butter mixture.

- Garnish with minced parsley if desired.
- Slice into individual sliders and serve immediately.

Pro Tips
Here are my best tips for the Best Pulled Pork Sliders:
Serve Immediately: These sliders are best enjoyed right after assembling. The creamy coleslaw and BBQ sauce can make the rolls soggy if they sit too long.
Use Your Favorite BBQ Sauce: The barbecue sauce adds a lot of flavor to these sliders, so choose one you already love, whether homemade or store-bought.
Pick Your Favorite Slaw: Homemade coleslaw, store-bought coleslaw mix, creamy coleslaw, or a crunchy red cabbage slaw all work great in this recipe.
Customize the Toppings: Add your favorite toppings, swap ingredients, or leave off anything you don’t enjoy to make these sliders your own.

Variations
Add Cheese: Add cheddar cheese, or your favorite cheese slices, between the pork and coleslaw for extra flavor and melty goodness. Because a slice of cheese always makes things better!
Bake Them: Place the assembled sliders in a baking dish, cover with aluminum foil, and bake until heated through. Remove the foil during the last few minutes to create golden brown tops.
Switch Up the Pickles: Not a fan of bread and butter pickles? Dill pickles are a delicious alternative that pairs perfectly with pulled pork.
Make It Spicy: Add sliced jalapeños or use a spicy barbecue sauce to give your sliders an extra kick.
What Kind of Pulled Pork Works Best?
This pork sliders recipe works with nearly any pulled pork recipe. Whether your pork ingredients came from a smoker, a slow cooker, or an Instant Pot, these sliders are the perfect way to enjoy leftovers. See my recipe for Instant Pot Pulled Pork here.
Traditional pulled pork is often made with a fattier cut like pork butt or boneless pork shoulder because the fat cap helps create tender, flavorful meat. However, pork loin can also work if that’s what you have available.

What to Serve with Pulled Pork Sliders
These BBQ pork sliders pair well with:
- French fries
- Potato chips
- Baked beans
- Macaroni salad
- Pasta salad
- Corn on the cob
- Fresh fruit
Any of these makes an easy side dish for a complete meal.
Storage
I do not recommend storing assembled sliders because the buns will become soggy.
Store leftover pulled pork separately in an airtight container in the refrigerator for 3-4 days. Keep the coleslaw and toppings separate, then assemble fresh sliders when ready to serve.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can I make these ahead of time?
You can prepare all the components ahead of time, but for best results, assemble the sliders just before serving.
Can I use brioche buns instead of Hawaiian buns?
Absolutely! Brioche buns are another delicious option, although sweet Hawaiian rolls are my favorite slider buns for this recipe.
Can I freeze leftover pulled pork?
Yes! Store cooled pulled pork in an airtight container or freezer-safe bag and freeze for up to 3 months.
What is the best pulled pork for sliders?
Pulled pork made from pork butt or boneless pork shoulder typically gives the best results because it stays tender and juicy.
These easy BBQ pork sliders are loaded with leftover pulled pork, creamy coleslaw, pickles, and barbecue sauce on soft Hawaiian rolls. They’re the perfect way to transform leftovers into a crowd-pleasing main dish everyone will love.

Pulled Pork Sliders Recipe with Hawaiian Rolls
Description
Turn yesterday’s barbecue into tonight’s easy meal with this irresistible Leftover Pulled Pork Sliders recipe! Tender, saucy meat is piled onto soft Hawaiian rolls and topped with creamy coleslaw, pickles, and your favorite BBQ sauce for a quick dinner that’s perfect for family dinners, game day parties, or anytime you’re craving delicious pork sandwiches. These little sandwiches come together in just minutes and are a great way to use up leftover pulled pork from the slow cooker or Instant Pot.
Ingredients
- 12 Pack Hawaiian Rolls
- 1 1/2 Pounds Leftover Pulled Pork, heated
- 2 Cups Coleslaw
- 12 Bread and Butter Pickle Chips
- 1 Cup BBQ Sauce
- 4 Tablespoons Unsalted Butter, melted
- 1 Teaspoon BBQ Seasoning
- Minced Parsley, optional garnish
Instructions
- Place the Hawaiian rolls on a cutting board and use a bread knife to slice them in half horizontally, keeping the tops and bottoms together. Set the tops aside and leave the bottom half on the board.
- Spread the warm pulled pork evenly over the bottom half of the rolls.
- Top the pulled pork with an even layer of coleslaw.
- Place one pickle chip on each slider. I like using large pickle chips because they fit the sliders perfectly.
- Drizzle your favorite BBQ sauce over the pickles.
- Place the tops of the rolls back on the sliders, lining them up with the bottoms.
- Stir the BBQ seasoning into the melted butter, then brush the mixture over the tops of the rolls.
- Sprinkle with fresh parsley, if desired. Slice into individual sliders and serve immediately.
Notes
- I don’t recommend storing these sliders after they’re assembled because the buns will get soggy. If you’re not serving them right away, keep the ingredients separate and assemble them just before serving.
- Use your favorite coleslaw here! I used a red cabbage coleslaw because it’s my personal favorite, but Richy prefers a more traditional finely chopped coleslaw. Homemade, store-bought, creamy, or crunchy—they all work great.
- Be sure to use a BBQ sauce you really love since it’s one of the main flavors in this recipe.
- Feel free to add more or less BBQ sauce depending on your taste. There’s no wrong amount!
- Not a fan of bread and butter pickles? Swap them for dill pickles, another favorite variety, or leave them off altogether.
- You can separate the rolls and build each slider individually if you prefer. I like keeping the rolls together and assembling them all at once because it’s much faster.
- Any BBQ seasoning will work for the buttery topping. I usually grab a basic store-bought blend and call it good.
