This Vintage Pink & Sage Ruffles Baby Shower Cake was my for my sweet, sweet sister-in-law Ariel. She wanted a vintage feel to her baby shower... and I think that's exactly what she got!
My other sister-in-law Amy hosted the shower at her house (you should recognize the house from her son's birthday party that I posted yesterday), and Ariel's Mom & sisters also helped out with everything. Ariel requested that the cake be strawberry cake with cream cheese frosting - so of course, that's what she got. 🙂
I used homemade marshmallow fondant to cover the cake, then to make the petals/ruffles and bow. She wanted it to be sage and pale pink. I used a tiny bit of Leaf Green mixed with a little Ivory (both Americolor) to get the sage color and I faded to a cream color. I used Soft Pink for the ribbon/bow.
We used real baby shoes for the topper and they worked perfectly with the colors & theme. They were very similar to these Ralph Lauren Baby Ballet Shoes.
I would be doing you a disservice if I didn't share some more pictures from the shower. Everything was so beautiful!
There were super cute girly decorations everywhere...
... and gorgeous fresh flowers!
OH - and the Mason Jars... LOVE the Mason Jars:
If I remember correctly, they were made by Ariel's sister Nikki!
And then of course, all the delicious food. I was only responsible for the cake and a couple of cheesecakes that you can see in the bottom right corner below...
Anywho... I don't have a lot to tell you other than it was all delicious and beautiful! There were other rooms with more decorations but I didn't get pics for some reason 🙁
If you have any questions about this cake, please leave me a comment and I'll answer and help out if I can!

Your cake is beautiful! It should pe perched up on top of one of the pieces of cut wood instead of showcasing a platter of bread. All the nice things set out there on that table and no one thought to remove the two black plastic trays? You had a lot on your plate with a centerpiece cake and two cheesecakes that would rock anyones world but someone should have been like... Let's get that cake up there!
