Over several months I've shared different elements of this Bright Baby Shower dessert table. Today I want to bring it all together - the cake, cupcakes and candy apples!
Let's start with what I haven't shared yet... the bright buttercream roses cake and cupcakes tower.
My customer asked that all of the bright colors from this bright roses cake be on the cake, but since the baby shower was for a girl, that we focus on bright pink and orange for the cupcakes, cake pops and candy apples!
I absolutely love doing multi-colored roses on a cake! This one was a 2-layer 6" round cake. The flavor was vanilla for the cake and all of the cupcakes!
These were displayed on a tower at the baby shower so that they were the centerpiece of the table!
I think we did 4 dozen cupcakes... and arranged them in alternating colors! You can see Amanda from I am Baker’s wonderful tutorial on how to pipe Buttercream Roses here.
Keeping with the pink and orange color scheme, we also did the cake pops in those colors!
On Monday I shared a post for How to Make Cake Pops if you're interested in how I do it! I share step-by-step pictures and maybe a few tips that'll help you!
Of course Bakerella is the expert on those and if you want more help and details - I highly recommend her books or The Art of Cake Pops (a book I reviewed).
And then there were the candy apples...
My colored candy apples have been so popular since I posted them and it's really exciting to have a recipe that so many readers can use!
You can see my first post with the candy apples (from scratch) recipe here and additional posts here (blue raspberry candy apples) and here (purple grape candy apples).
In just a couple of weeks I'll be getting a couple of bushels of fresh apples straight from an orchard and I am so excited to try new new ideas I have!
And that's it! Do you have any questions about the cake, cupcakes, candy apples or cake pops? I'd love for you to leave a comment!

Hi, I am sure you get asked this a lot but how do you get the deep colors in your buttercream frosting I have been trying for a while to get that deep of colors and always either taste horrible from the coloring or the coloring isn't as dark and deep as I would like ...thank you
Rose
I use Americolor Gel Colors and it doesn't take a whole lot of it to get really deep, rich colors!

OMG, I just tried the candy apple recipe, they came out even better than the pre made mix!! They were crunchy, i found them even easier to bite into than the mix!! And I actually love the specks of white in the color. I am staring at them now fighting not to eat one. Had one for breakfast, lol. You do such beautiful work Rose, thanks for sharing, you are awesome!
Rose
Thank you so much for coming back and sharing!! If you're like me, they don't last long at all - I could eat them for breakfast, lunch and dinner 😉

Great website and tutorials !! Question how far in advance can candy apple be made? Prior to a party.
Rose
I wouldn't recommend making them more than a day in advance. And do not refrigerate them - they get super sticky!

I don't know what I did wrong, but I bomb them. Mine came out red. Did I put to much coloring in or not enough white. Any suggestions on any other type of white.

Just in the nick of time! I am bringing some snacks to my daughters gender reveal party next weekend and I have seen a few ideas that I can do but they are not as exciting as your apples!
Who doesn't like a candy apple anyway?
I will check out the recipe and see if it is easy enough for me. Thank you for sharing!

Hi there, my name is Hannah and I live in Germany. I am amazed by your website and the most beautiful buttercreme roses. But even more impressed of the combination with the rainbow colours. Your cakes have an absolute wow-effect!!!
May I ask you which food colours you use? I'd love to make a cake like that for my daughter in March 2017. Here in Germany we are limited to buying really good food colours so I could maybe order some online. Thank you for your advice and please keep the good work up!! I'm your latest follower 🙂 Regards from Hannah in Germany (near Cologne).

Hi Hannah - I use Americolor Gel Colors for all of my decorating! Thank you for your kind words!!

Hello, your items look beautiful, can you tell me what you wrapped the candy apples in and how long did you wait to wrap them.
Rose
Cellophane bags - and I wrap them as soon as they're hard!

Hi, Do you have packaging to ship your products out of state?
Rose
No, I don't ship anything.
