If you're looking for Halloween Cakes for Cake Walks - look no further! I have some that are fancy decorated and some that are delicious dessert cakes and some that are in-between! Let's have a look!

I'm going to start with a couple of amazing dessert cakes that are sure to be a hit for a Cake Walk! These don't exactly scream Halloween but they are certainly perfect for a cake walk!
Dessert cakes...
This Fresh Apple cake just screams fall and I'm willing to bet that anybody who sees it sitting on the table for a cake walk will fight you for it!
This Golden Rum Cake is another one that is sure to be popular with your family and friends. Granted, if this is for a cake walk at church, the rum may or may not be appropriate, but when we sold these last fall, my customers couldn't get enough of them!
Fondant Decorated Halloween Cakes...
This week I got make five super cute cakes and I'm going to share them all with you in this post. Every one of them perfect for a fall party, birthday or cake walk. These were all for cake walks and fall festivals!
For this first one, I made this pumpkin cake above (alot more dressed up than my first one)...with ghosts coming out of windows and doors. It was a fun, cute cake that didn't take a huge amount of time to make.
I was super excited to about it... it's always fun to be able to stir my creative juices and come up with an original cake (or in this case...sort of original).
For the second cake, I wanted to stick with the Fall/Halloween theme but do something with dark purple. The bats and black cat seemed to be the answer to what I was envisioning.
I just loved the deep purple/blue color of the background and the contrast of the bright orange pumpkins!
The inside was all vanilla cake, and it's decorated with fondant and gum paste. The moon was standing up on floral wire, and the bats were "glued" on with sugar glue
Two of these last three aren't my typical "decorated" cakes, but I just had to make them anyway! So...here they are...
This is a Chocolate Covered Oreo Cookie Cake from KraftFoods.com. Oh, and just FYI, the recipe makes ways way too much "filling" for an 8 inch cake. I didn't even put it all in there and look at how thick it is...of course, I couldn't waste the leftovers. Let's just say it's yummy right off the spoon. I mean really...cream cheese, sugar, cool whip, and crushed Oreos. In other words...HEAVEN!
Of course, I added a little "Fall" to the cake with some fondant pumpkins and some orange coloring to the cream filling... just to make it seasonal and increase the "cute" factor!
Next I made this official "Fall Cake". My husband and kids used up some leftover marshmallow fondant to make these multi-colored leaves a few days ago, so of course, I had to make a cake to put them on!!
Kit Kat Cake
Next up (below), I made this "Dress Up" cake. My friend Jennifer shared something similar with me and from the minute I saw them, I knew I had to make one. Again, I chose a "Fall" look...Kit Kats, Reeses Pieces, and a nice cream-colored ribbon!
Mine didn't turn out as "square" as I wanted (thanks to my small-town grocery store and their half-melted Kit Kats), but my kids thought it was awesome!!
I have a tutorial for making fondant leaves like this here.
I love this little cake... and it might be my favorite just because it's the only one hiding some yummy cream cheese buttercream under that fondant (shhhh, don't tell!!).
And that's that. Ten days... seven Fall/Halloween cakes. I always enjoy trying something new and these were a lot of fun! If you missed them before...I also made some Fall and Halloween cupcakes here.
Do you have any questions about these cakes? Please feel free to leave a comment and I’ll help if I can!
