Hello Kitty Cake, Cupcakes & Candy Apples
Someone commented on Facebook the other day that we’ve all seen enough Hello Kitty cakes. I hope not everybody shares this sentiment because today I’m sharing another Hello Kitty Cake, Cupcakes & Candy Apples!! This is the last of the long-lost cakes I found in an overlooked file on my computer a couple of weeks ago.
These were done for my friend Narshunda – the same day that I made the Music Cake for her husband Aaron.
You might also remember the cakes I did for her in 2012, for her daughter and husband. There was the Dora the Explorer Cake and the Harley Davidson Cake.
The cake is a sweet little 6″ round cake. I covered and decorated it with homemade marshmallow fondant and used some tylose in the fondant to make the bow. I cut out the Hello Kitty Face using a cookie cutter, then used fondant and food markers to make the face :).
I used small round cookie cutters for the polka dots and a silicone pearl mold to do the border.

And last but not least… the candy apples. I’ve mentioned before that it’s always a little sad to me that the most popular thing on my “cake” blog is candy apples… but then I’m grateful for being able to help and teach regardless of the subject matter, so if I’m mostly helping others to make candy apples, so be it!
Maybe one day I’ll be popular for cakes… ha!
