I was just going through my camera bag and I found an SD card that I haven't used in awhile. When clicking through the pictures, I found this cake.
My son Noah made it for my husband and me last Valentines Day (2012).
I actually baked the cake for some reason (I can't remember) and ended up not using it. Noah asked if he could have it to decorate as a surprise so I told him yes!
He worked really hard on this cake - asking his siblings to help with the frosting bags and raiding my sprinkles supply (obviously!). He even wrote words on the board.
Words that made me cry. He was so proud of what he created!
When he was done, he asked his brother Caleb to help him take pictures of it. They set up some of my display boards right next to the front door - where I always take pictures of cakes - and away they went.
Later that night when Richy got home, he presented it to us. It was perfect.
I often have mothers tell me they want to do their own kids cakes but they know it'll never be as beautiful as my cakes.
The truth is - if someone you love makes a cake for you or you make a cake for someone you love - it is beautiful. Because it was made with love.
Remember I told you that... and get busy baking! xo, Rose

What a special memory filled with love. My best cakes and cupcakes came from my 7 year old daughter. I'll bake the items and make the icing and leave her to it.
