Tools Needed
- Large Bowl
- Microwave Safe Bowl
- Silicone Spatula
- Wax Paper
Ingredients
For this Bunny Bait recipe with popcorn, you only need 4 ingredients! Of course you can add other things if you like, but it's perfect with just these few things.
- Popcorn, Buttered & Salted. Usually when we snack on popcorn, we use an air popper with butter-flavored non-stick cooking spray and salt. But for this recipe, we use Extra Buttery Microwave Popcorn
- White Almond Bark or White Candy Melts
- Easter M&Ms (or other Pastel M&Ms)
- Pretzel Twists or Pretzel Sticks
How to Make Bunny Bait
It will only take a few minutes to make this fun Easter food.
- Line a baking sheet with wax paper and set aside.
- Microwave a bag of popcorn and pour it into a large bowl. See my tip below for removing the unpopped seeds.
- Add the pastel M&Ms and pretzel twists to the bowl.
- Place the white chocolate in a microwave-safe bowl and microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring after each, until the melted candy is smooth.
- Pour over the popcorn mix.
- Use a silicone spatula to stir the popcorn mix and melted candy until well-coated.
- Dump onto the sheet lined with wax paper and spread out.
- Allow to harden.
- Break into pieces.
- Enjoy!!
Pro Tips
- To remove seeds from the popped popcorn, place a wire rack over a baking sheet. Pour the popcorn onto the wire rack and the unpopped seeds will fall through.
- You can substitute air-popped popcorn if you like, but we really prefer microwave popcorn for this recipe. The already salted, super buttery kind, if you must know.
Bunny Bait Add-Ins
I like to keep this Easter Trail Mix recipe simple with just a handful of ingredients. But there are certainly other things you an mix in:
- Peanuts
- Cereal (we prefer Rice Chex) for an Easter Chex Mix
- Raisins
- White Chocolate Chips or Pastel Chocolate Chips
- Pastel Sprinkles
Storage Directions
Store this Bunny Popcorn Mix in an airtight container at room temperature for up to a week. If you’re in a warmer climate or using chocolate that might melt, consider refrigerating it instead. For gifting, portion the mix into treat bags or jars and seal them tightly.

Notes
- Usually when we snack on popcorn, we use an air popper with butter flavored non-stick cooking spray and salt. But my youngest kiddo is totally addicted to popcorn, so I buy microwave popcorn that he can make for himself or for my husband to have at work.
- While we do sometimes use air-popped popcorn, we really prefer microwave popcorn for this recipe. The already salted, super buttery kind, if you must know.
